If you have any interest in e-retail, you might have found yourself at the doorstep of IRCE eCommerce conference 2018 last week.
The eCommerce conference came as quickly as it passed. Over the course of June 5-8 leaving everyone thinking over their experiences. With so many vendors to visit (over 600!) and presentations to listen to, one was sure able to find something interesting.
Our team attended the conference as well, setting up a minimalistic and stylish booth.
Besides the usual company-related information, we offered some trendy S.W.A.G (stuff we all get). Such as reusable water bottles, our brand new annual magazine ‘This Might Be Useful’, and an unexpected winner of the conference – our custom made webcam covers, for all of you, privacy lovers.
The small, hardly recognizable little objects seemed to interest everyone and sparked lively discussions about security. Whether you think it’s paranoia or a safety measure, we were happy people seemed to enjoy this little gift we provided.
The exhibition hall had many other interesting things to offer. The Snapchat booth garnered enough attention with as little as a yellow screen and the iconic little ghost. One of the most popular attractions were an interactive CPR booth, which our team found incredibly fun to try out.
Since the conference is for e-retailers, it’s no wonder that most booths proudly displayed Magento’s or Shopify’s logos. As the two biggest eCommerce platforms, these companies had a visible presence at IRCE. Of course, both Magento and Shopify were present at the exhibition hall with impressive booths. One rose high with a two-store mini building while the other stretched out over two booth spots.
Although our booth took up most of our time, we couldn’t miss out on the main attraction of this year’s IRCE eCommerce conference. With many speakers and special guests, the workshops were incredibly popular with the crowd. Seth Godin’s speech touched on the fears many of us have – being judged by society and how to stop being afraid of making mistakes. Other wonderful speakers voiced their thoughts on the modern business environments and tips on how to navigate them.
IRCE left us exhausted but incredibly satisfied with the whole experience. We learned a lot, both from other exhibitors and guests, leaving us even more excited for next year.
Watch out, IRCE’19, we’re coming back bigger than ever!
