This week our team had the chance to visit the KTU WANTed career fair for the fifth time. It’s very exciting to see the event grow bigger and better every time we come here. Only five years ago Adeo Web was among the 20 companies that found the time and meaning to meet the future of our workforce, to share real experience and real stories from the business world with the young bright minds. This year the event was held in Lithuania’s largest arena with more than 200 companies in attendance.
With the growing competition, progress is critical for both companies and students too, as standing out in this massive event is an increasingly difficult task. To maintain our leadership, this year we have completely reworked the way we look at the career fair. Luckily, our team was more than happy to chime in and offer new ideas.
Both in our work and the way people perceive Adeo Web, we always want to be as transparent as possible and show the personal touch that is still rare in today’s job market. To achieve this we showcased the real stories of our employees and their journey at Adeo Web – from internships to senior positions, from career switches to newly created positions.
With new ideas, a new design is a must! Adeo Web booth was completely revamped for this event, along with all the personal goodies and giveaways that will remind our visitors whom to contact when they want to create their own story at Adeo Web. The cotton candy was “the bomb”, too!
Finally, we’ve sat down to think – how can we display our care for young geeks to grow? How can we show them that anything is possible if they put their mind to it? How can we make the a young programmer’s day? Every true programmer loves a challenge, and more than that – every developer needs the tools – a laptop to be exact.
Our team has spent a couple of evenings to create a series of programming tasks and questions that would prove to be challenging enough for the young minds. The challenge was definitely a hit and there were masses of programmers surrounding our booth, all working through the task with very limited time.
We are thrilled to announce the winner – Aistė Kukanauskaitė! She has proven herself to be the quickest and most resourceful programmer at the event and left the event with a brand new laptop. We’re excited to see more ladies go tech each year and hopefully this is just the start of Aistė’s Adeo Web journey!
Overall, this was a crazy event with more than 6 people from our team attending to handle all the students and young professionals interested to start their story at Adeo Web. We’re already looking forward to next year’s KTU WANTed career fair.
