Baltic Retail Forum 2019 is a conference for retailers. It was hosted for the 8th time, this time in the capital of Latvia – Riga. Similarly to previous events, the forum once again took place in a venue pretty unusual for these type of conferences – “Forum Cinemas” cinema theatre. You might remember this from our previous visit to Baltic Retail Forum in Vilnius last year.
Retail and eCommerce industries are in the midst of a massive transformation. This is due to many reasons – from technological and market to customer purchasing behaviour changes.
Some of these changes and the complexity of them were covered by speakers at the Baltic Retail Forum too. Morten Hansen, Head of Economics department at Stockholm School of Economics, shared his positive and hopeful predictions for the Latvian economy in the upcoming years. The adaptation of technological advancements mentioned before is making its presence known in physical stores too. This topic and the challenges it will bring was presented by Andrius Kalašinskas – Global Product Director at Strongpoint. Another keynote, particularly relatable for retailers from the Baltics, was presented by analytical lead at Google itself – Justas Ložinskas. The presentation covered the key retail trends faced both by the region and globally. Being an eCommerce agency, we were extremely interested in the behaviour of online customers and whether it’s affected by the winds of change. Spoiler alert – they are.
We’re proud to share that our own CEO Paulius Nagys was among the keynote speakers of the event. With more than 10 years of experience, you could call him quite an expert of developing B2B/B2C eCommerce solutions. The topic of eCommerce and technologies involved in it is getting more attention than ever. So Paulius shared some of the lessons and ideas Adeo Web team has collected throughout these years. Not surprisingly, the main topic of the presentation was the complexity of eCommerce systems. Even though the end-user might see only the product, a couple of buttons and delivery options, the reality is that the are extremely complex processes working under the surface.
Overall, once again, Baltic Retail Forum 2019 was a success, as is becoming tradition with Strongpoint events. Excellent speakers, interesting and relevant topics, networking with some of the most interesting retail and eCommerce people in the Baltics – these are only couple of reasons, why Adeo Web will be visiting upcoming Strongpoint Retail Forums.
