Another year has passed, another Christmas season is upon us. But this Christmas is extra special for us! For the very first time the whole Adeo Web family has celebrated the Christmas all together, in one place. We were very excited to have our colleagues and advisors from US and Sweden join our celebration.
The theme for our Christmas party was Ugly Sweater. However, as far as sweaters go, the word “ugly” could not contain the whole creativity and variety represented in the party. Theme clothes ranged from wardrobe abominations decorated with moose, deer and other Christmas symbols, to elven uniforms, with some sweaters even bursting out with Christmas lights and sounds. The theme definitely brought the spirit of Christmas to our party.
The party hit off at “Genys” craft beer brewery. Genys is Lithuanian for woodpecker and the story under the brewery name is a fascinating one. When the founders of the brand were thinking of a good bird name for the brewery, the options varied from sparrow to tomtit – but all of them were kind of “weak”. But woodpecker – you can always hear it knocking in a forest, just like you can hear a warm commotion of your local bar and happy murmurs of people drinking tasty beverages. So the name stuck and our team had a chance to actually enjoy the fruits of brewery’s labor. During the tasting session “Genys” Master Brewer Jonas has told us a handful of very interesting stories about the types of products they make, the process they run and the fun side of brewing craft beer. The warm Christmas lights falling down from our ugly sweaters has lit the Christmas spirits up.
As you might guess, the learning course for craft beer requires a lot of energy, so our team got hungry pretty soon in the process. Next stop – “Pelėdinė”, or “Owl Inn” in Lithuanian. It’s a fantastic burger joint for late night owls of all kinds. After arriving we found the place to be covered in Christmas decorations, thanks to our wonderful team of Christmas party organizers. After a quick snack and another short lesson about “Genys” brewery production, the scene was set for a word from our colleagues.
The first presentation by our CEO Paulius has brought everyone together and reminded of how far Adeo Web has actually travelled from its roots. From small-scale Magento projects in a tiny office, to offices in Chicago, Sweden and Kaunas; to global-scale projects and an unstoppable international team.
Afterwards, our colleagues and advisors from US and Sweden have shared the achievements from their offices. Offices, that are growing faster and stronger every day. Our US advisor Joe has even brought some authentic thoughts, ideas and souvenirs from Chicago, the home of Cubs.
When we’re busy with our daily tasks, it’s easy to forget how far we’ve actually come. And we’ve come far. But the most important part is that we never stop and keep moving forward, keep improving every single day – and the results speak for themselves.
After spending some quality time in “Pelėdinė”, we made sure to visit Kaunas city Christmas tree to wrap up another warm and bright Adeo Web Christmas.
