Extreme running competition “Bebro kelias”, or “Way of Beaver” in English, is an annual event held in Pamuse village, Lithuania. The competition offers a new route and barriers every year, including pipe slides, net climbing, sprinting through swamps, walls of fire and smoke, and of course some not-so-relaxing mud baths.
This August six members from Adeo Web team joined the competition to experience how a beaver feels on his daily commute. Let me tell you – it is a lot more challenging than one might think. There were obstacles that you couldn’t even handle alone – like jumping in a really deep pit and then finding a way to climb out of it. However, when you have a team that you can trust, you can go through the obstacles a lot smoother. Moreover, being covered in dirt from head to toe is infinitely more entertaining when you have smiling muddy faces of your teammates around you.
The famous saying “If you want to fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together” couldn’t be more applicable in this case. Teamwork was the key to overcoming challenges thrown at us.
What sets “Beaver way” aside from other running competitions is the atmosphere surrounding it. You won’t find grumpy faces or over-competitive attitudes – it’s all smiles and teamwork! When you leave your ego in the swamp and dedicate yourself to overcome the challenge as a part of the team, your perspective shifts and everyone has a lot more fun.
We know for sure that next year we will be here to get our hands (and everything else, honestly) dirty. And we have big ideas for next year’s event. Stay tuned!
